Air France to suspend nonstop flights to Paris from Orlando from September 3
Jan 31, 2012
Air France recently announced the suspension of its nonstop flights to Paris from Orlando effective September 3, 2012.
The airline started its nonstop flights from Orlando International Airport to Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport nearly eight months ago, in June 2011. The airline operated three flights every week.
Air France spokeswoman Claire Jacobs said that the airline is suspending its Paris-Orlando flights due to growing financial worries and stiff economic environment prevailing now. Besides, the decision to suspend flight services also falls within the Air France-KLM general plan to restore its profitability.
The passengers who have already booked their tickets and flying on canceled flights are being accommodated on other flights.
The holding company which operates Air France-KLM disclosed that it has staggering overall debt of $2.61 billion, which it desperately wants to be reduced during the next three years.
Air France, however, said that it will continue operating nonstop flights between Miami and Paris during the summer months. It also said that travelers from Orlando can catch connecting flights to Paris through other major US hubs.
