British Airways Cancels its Georgia London Route

British Airways, flag carrier if Britain has announced that it will stop operating its flights to Georgia. British Airways office based out of Tbilisi said in a press note, that the airline will leave its Georgia sector from March this year.

British Airways international flight between London and Tbilisi will last fly on March 29, 2013. And from March 31, 2013 the airline will official terminate its operations in Georgia.

Irakli Gordeli, spokesperson for British Airways said that the airline has taken this decision purely for commercial reasons. He said that London-Tbilisi route was proving to be non profitable for the airline and hence the decision to terminate this sector was taken.

Emirates to Fly Nonstop Between Dubai and Tokyo

Emirates Airlines declared that it will operate nonstop flights between Dubai International airport and Haneda Airport, Tokyo from June 3, 2013. With this addition Haneda becomes Emirates third gateway in Japan. At present the airlines flies to Osaka and Narita International Airport.

Emirates Airline flight EK312, operated by a three class Boeing 777-200LR will start from Dubai at 9.05 A.M. and land Haneda Airport the following day at 1 A.M. Return flight EK313 will start from Haneda Airport at 1.30 A.M. and reach Dubai same day by 7.05 A.M.

This international flight will offer its passengers unmatched comfort and in-flight services. This nonstop flight will consist of eight First Class private suites, 42 Business Class seats fitted with latest lie-flat seats and 216 Economy Class seats. Onboard passengers will be offered tailor made dishes cooked specifically keeping in mind the pallet of Japanese travelers.

The in-flight entertainment services have also been designed keeping in mind the needs and wants on Japanese passengers, like Dubai-Tokyo flight will feature more than 40 Japanese channels.

Scoot Unveils New In-Flight Entertainment Option

Scoot, a Singapore based low-cost carrier, announced that it will offer a new in-flight entertainment service to its passengers. Under this service passengers will be able to stream the content on their mobile, tablets and other Wi-Fi devices.

This new service will be known as ScooTV, and will offers passengers with a range of popular television shows and blockbuster movies, which the passengers can view on their own gadget during their flight. ScooTV service will be made available to passengers flying under all cabin classes.

Passengers flying on Economy class will have to pay $12, while ScootBiz (airline’s premium economy-type cabin) passengers will be able to enjoy this service for free. The airlines will also provide Wi-Fi enabled devices on rent to passengers flying without a device.

Scoot flies cheap flights to several destinations within Singapore and to Sydney, Bangkok, Taipei, Tokyo, Shenyang, Gold Coast, Qingdao and Tianjin. The airline has been in operation since November 1, 2011.

Cathay Pacific Introduces Regional Business Class Flights

Cathay Pacific Airlines has introduced a new Regional Business Class to Beijing. This all new service took its first flight on January 29, 2013.

Agnes Yeung, Cathay Pacific Airlines spokeswomen informed that the airline flew its first aircraft fitted with the all new Regional Business Class seats commenced its service from Tuesday, Jan 29 and took its maiden flight to Beijing.

She further said that the airline has not made any preset deployment plan as to where all this aircraft will fly, however the most probable destinations operated by this aircraft will include likes of Tokyo, Singapore and Osaka.

Cathay Pacific plans to install these new Regional Business Class seats on all of its regional fleet comprising of Airbus A330 and Boeing 777 by the end of year 2014.

Qatar Airways Adds More Flights to Warsaw

Qatar Airways has announced that it will be increasing its flights frequency to Warsaw from February 1, 2013. At present the airlines is operation four weekly flights to Warsaw, which will increase to daily from Feb 1.

Doha-Warsaw international flight launched in December 2012, at present flies every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, by a two-class Airbus A320. The new flights have been scheduled for Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays departure at 0230 hours, landing in Warsaw at 0630 hours; while return journey departs at 1105 hours and land in Doha at 1825hours.

Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways in a press note stated, that he is extremely happy with the performance of the Warsaw sector, and with this addition passengers will yet again get more flight options and to fly to Asia, Australia and the Middle East.
