JetBlue Airways first New York JFK lounge Airspace JFK opens

by Richa 13. August 2013 04:15

Want to escape the busy terminal at New York JFK while setting your boarding process into motion? Here’s a gift from JetBlue Airways! You have every reason to be happy now. No drudgery or usual airport commotion. Just escape into the JetBlue Airway’s flagship JFK Terminal 5. The airline has opened its first airport lounge at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. The recently inaugurated Airspace JFK lounge is a big relief indeed. It’s undoubtedly an escape from the busy terminal and a pleasant place to hang out.

Airspace JFK is located in Terminal 5 near gates 24 and 25. It is being operated by Swissport subsidiary Airspace Lounge. You won’t have to spend big bucks for seeking access to the lounge. Just pay $25 and have a blissful stay prior to boarding your flights. It’s open for all travelers. You don’t need to buy a first class ticket or travel in business class to gain access here.

The 2,500 square feet lounge has a capacity to accommodate 60 people. However, during the peak times the passengers will be charged $35. Amex Platinum cardholders and Aer Lingus first and business class passengers are the lucky ones. They can just walk in for free into the lounge.

Feeling hungry? Just don’t worry. You need to have a $10 credit toward menu items and you can treat yourself to bar snacks, sweets, and a whole range of cocktails, wines and craft beers. If you don’t want to spend on your eats then get Peet’s coffees and teas and light snacks, which are for free.

Emirates Airlines a mysterious investor behind Hungarys Slyom

by Richa 6. August 2013 04:10

A new airline in Hungary named Sólyom Hungarian Airways is likely to hit to the skies sometime soon in the future. But the owner of the airline still remains a mystery. There are flutters within the aviation industry to ascertain the real owner. Media reports quoting air industry experts recently said that the secret investor behind Hungary’s new airline Sólyom Hungarian Airways could be the leading Middle East carrier Emirates Airlines. The reports cited Emirates Airlines as the quite-likely investor after seeing the confidence of the new airline’s management.

Sólyom Hungarian Airways recently held its first official press conference in the last week of July 2013. The officials addressing media persons said that the management has signed a deal with two strategic investors. One investor is a tourism company registered in Oman, which is a minority owner. The other investor is an unmade Dubai-based company, which is providing with the necessary funding. The airline’s launch is planned for the month of August this year.

The industry sources based on the assessment of Middle East airlines have pointed out that there are three main air traffic hubs in the Middle East, in Dubai, Doha and Abu Dhabi. All the three hubs have their own airline, which together carry around 10 to 40 million passengers every year, most of them being transit passengers. Emirates Airlines with a huge fleet of 200 aircrafts is the largest carrier in the Middle East, and is based in Dubai. Etihad Airways is another large airline which recently bought nearly 30 percent stake in Airberlin. Seeing the Middle East airlines spreading their wings in foreign countries by acquiring stakes in airlines, it can be said that Emirates Airlines is the likely mysterious investor in the new Sólyom Hungarian Airways.
