United Airlines is committed to offer better services and a
comfortable flying experience to its customers. United Airlines has
recently introduced its new signature seat design promising maximum
comfort to its customers. Apart from customer comfort, the airline is
also focusing on environmental responsibility, with a modern,
United Airlines said that it would be deploying new seats on hundreds of
its aircrafts offering flights services within the United States,
Canada, Central America and the Caribbean. The new design is being
introduced with a Bombardier CRJ700 being presently operated by United
Express carrier SkyWest Airlines. The airline expects to deploy the new
look design on its domestic mainline aircraft as well as on regional
aircraft that is operated by United Express carriers. United Airlines
ultimately plans to introduce the new design on more than 60,000 seats
on more than 500 aircrafts. By 2015, the airline expects the new seat
design to be introduced on approximately 400 aircrafts.
Providing details about the new design, United Airlines said that this
includes bold elements, more ergonomic and supportive cushioning, and
additional seat-back storage space in United Economy Plus and United

Germany’s flagship carrier Lufthansa is currently witnessing a remarkable growth in Qatar. The airline, which has reported a steady passenger growth in the Doha-Frankfurt sector over the past few years, said that it is seeing Qatar emerging as one of the fastest growing markets for premium travel in the GCC countries. Media reports quoted a Lufthansa official as saying that 2011 was the most successful year for the airline in Qatar. Lufthansa is a leading carrier in Europe presently.
According to Lufthansa, the airline carried more than 70,000 passengers to and from Germany and beyond in 2012. The airline said that it registered a huge increase of more than 40 percent last year as compared to 2011. The airline further said that the number of passenger arrivals to Doha for business or leisure purposes was an all time high. This significantly strengthened the airline’s service, which operates daily nonstop flights between Doha and Frankfurt with the help of an Airbus A340 aircraft. With such a fantastic increase now, Lufthansa wants to expand its Doha service further.
Carsten Schaeffer, Lufthansa’s Vice President Sales & Service, South East Europe, Middle East and Africa, said that Qatar has developed as one of the fastest growing markets for premium travel in the GCC nations. He said that the growth in first class passenger numbers is particularly impressive, with the volume nearly doubled within one year. This testifies that the airline’s strategy to invest into brand new First and Business Class products as well as the world’s only dedicated First Class Terminal has been finally paying off.

Passengers traveling with Qatar Airways are going to be a little
happy. While most airlines are doing every bit to please their
travelers, the Gulf carrier, following suit has announced its decision
to increase baggage allowance. Passengers flying to various destinations
in Africa including Entebbe, Kigali, Nairobi, Kilimanjaro,
Dar-e-Salaam, and Addis Ababa will be able to carry more baggage between
7 and 10 kilograms, depending of course on their class.
The economy passengers will be able to add another 7 kilograms as the
airline has upped it from the earlier set 23 kilograms. Business
travelers will be able to enjoy additional weight of 10 kilograms up
from the previous limit of 30 kilograms. The airline uses the services
of Airbus A320 to serve African cities from Doha. This plane comprises a
seating capacity for only business and economy class passengers. This
route does not consist of First Class. However, these premier travelers
will be able to carry up to 50 kilograms along with them to their
destinations across the world.
The airline also announced that it would not be able to switch
operations to the new airport in Doha until 2014. Apparently, the
construction of the plush airport will take some time hence delaying the
carrier’s plans to launch service from its sprawling premises. The new
airport is equipped with several amenities that are set to benefit
business and first class travelers and heighten their travel experience.
The airline expects to launch its Airbus A380 superjumbo service from
the brand new complex by March next year.

British Airways, premier airline of the United Kingdom recently
launched service to Chengdu with a panda plane. Apparently, Chengdu, the
city in China is home to the world famous giant panda and the airline
wanted to please the people with its unique offering. The airline
specially painted its Boeing 777-200 plane to look like a panda.
This aircraft sports a huge smile like that of the cute animal. The
panda plane will offer thrice-a-week service between London Heathrow and
Chengdu. Interestingly the city is the carrier’s first new destination
in China since launching service to Shanghai in 2005. The airline
believes that mainland China comprises an important part of its
itinerary and hence it is committed to serve the people with direct
services. This plane comprises a seating capacity across four class
including First, Club World (business class), World Traveller Plus
(premium economy) and World Traveller (economy).
On the other hand, the airline is inching close to a new experiment. The
popular European carrier plans to allow passengers automatically
check-in on a trial basis. The airline wants to discard the conventional
method of manual check-ins and pave way for automated check-ins
instead. It therefore, plans to test its idea in the first phase with
flights to Vienna, Copenhagen, Vancouver, Toronto, Rome Fiumicino,
Mauritius, and Cancun. As per its strategy, passengers can proceed
towards check-ins six days ahead of their departures. These travelers
will receive confirmation and boarding passes 25 hours before takeoff.

It is not just about the design. These seats will be fitted with USB ports to allow passengers to plug in their personal devices, and entertain themselves throughout the journey. There are electric outlets to compliment the USB port along with a modified and larger seat back monitor. This considerate effort by the airline is sure going to help it win the hearts of economy and premium economy travelers and may be in the future its bookings simply shoot up. Other facilities offered include wider trays, headphones holder, and extra legroom. Additionally Wi-Fi may also be available. Boeing 777s have been selected for these makeovers and the airline expects to wrap up the process by July 2016. It is not clear as of now which routes will have these planes fly to.
