Cathay Pacific Airways recently announced the reopening of ‘The Wing’, its newly-refurbished First Class Lounge. The airline’s flagship lounge was reopened at its main hub at Hong Kong International Airport after undergoing a major renovation.

The newly refurbished lounge is spread in a 1,697 square meter area, and would be catering to customers booking first class tickets.
The airline’s business class lounge, which caters to customers booking business class tickets, was renovated last year.

Cathay Pacific Airways said that both the first class and business class lounges offer unparalleled service and comfort to the customers taking first class and business class flights out of Hong Kong International Airport. 

The airline in a statement said that the first class lounge ‘The Wing’ will be opened to first class passengers, Emerald oneworld members and Diamond Marco Polo Club members. The lounge will be opened from 5.30 am until the last departure.

Cathay Pacific Airways premium economy on all U.S. flights now

Cathay Pacific Airways recently announced that its premium economy flights would now be available in all four U.S. gateways, including San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.

The airline in a statement said that its fourth and final port Chicago would be gaining the extra cabin class on all flights effective from February 1, 2013.

To celebrate the launch on all its U.S. flights, Cathay Pacific Airways recently offered cheap premium economy tickets from the U.S. to Hong Kong for $1,629 (including all taxes and fuel surcharges) for travel in March this year.

The airline further disclosed that the customers who book premium economy airfares through April 30, 2013 would be able to earn double Asia Miles. If the customers book just one round-trip flight they will be able to earn over 30,000 miles, which will be enough to redeem a side trip to Bali, Singapore or Bangkok.

Cathay Pacific Introduces Regional Business Class Flights

Cathay Pacific Airlines has introduced a new Regional Business Class to Beijing. This all new service took its first flight on January 29, 2013.

Agnes Yeung, Cathay Pacific Airlines spokeswomen informed that the airline flew its first aircraft fitted with the all new Regional Business Class seats commenced its service from Tuesday, Jan 29 and took its maiden flight to Beijing.

She further said that the airline has not made any preset deployment plan as to where all this aircraft will fly, however the most probable destinations operated by this aircraft will include likes of Tokyo, Singapore and Osaka.

Cathay Pacific plans to install these new Regional Business Class seats on all of its regional fleet comprising of Airbus A330 and Boeing 777 by the end of year 2014.

Cathay Pacific Airways unveils premium economy class to India

Hong Kong-based carrier Cathay Pacific Airways recently indicated that it is now looking at India as one of its significant markets and has decided to add capacity and new segments here.

Keeping in line with its new strategy, Cathay Pacific Airways announced the introduction of new premium economy class cabins on Indian routes. The airline stated that the premium economy tickets would be 30 percent expensive than what is being currently charged for travel in economy class.

The airline said that it considers India among the top ten markets, and is aiming to bring the country to 7th or 8th position by the end of 2013 by significant capacity addition. The airline had added 8 percent capacity in India in 2012 as compared to 2011.

The airline disclosed that it would be increasing the number of flights between Hong Kong and Mumbai this year. The airline is planning to operate 10 weekly nonstop flights between the two destinations from April 2, 2013.

Currently, Cathay Pacific Airways along with its sister airline Dragonair is operating 46 weekly flights from six cities in India to Hong Kong.

Cathay Pacific declares its business class flights deal from –

  • San Francisco to Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore;
  • Los Angeles to Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore;
  • New York to Hong Kong.

According to the Airline, tickets on route San Francisco and Los Angeles purchased by 30 June 2010 and tickets on route New York purchased by 31 May 2010 but all route departure not later than 31 Dec 2010.
