Singapore Airlines Decide To Go Paperless

by 16. August 2010 10:27

Singapore Airlines has announced that, they reduce the use of paper onboard and saving fuel. As per Singapore airlines, it will one day introduce completely paperless cabins as a means of reducing weight. In a first step towards this goal Singapore airline has announced that its in-flight travel magazine, sales catalogue and entertainment guide will be featured as part of the in-flight entertainment system offerings. Later time, Singapore intends to extend this to other publications, including menu cards, more than 100 international and local magazines, e-newspapers and e-books. For reducing the weight, airlines decided to use smart papers application which presents digital format features including keyword search, personalized font size and different zooming levels. The trial is expected to commence from 31 July on two Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft followed by two Airbus A380s all equipped with the latest Panasonic eX2 In-flight entertainment systems.
