Philippine Airlines (PAL) has decided to streamline its Australian operations. To begin with, flights to and from Brisbane would be temporarily suspended effective 31st October 2010.
An official of the airlines said that five times a week flights to Melbourne would be adjusted to four times weekly. However, flights to Sydney will remain unaffected with the usual five times weekly services. Passengers affected by the flight realignments would be properly intimated by PAL’s contact center and advised on the best options to proceed to their respective destinations, the official said.
The market conditions and the onset of the lean season made the airlines to effect necessary changes in the number of destinations and frequency of flights. The official, however, reiterated that Australia remains an important market for Philippine Airlines.
