American
Airlines gave a tough challenge to their US domestic competitors by
initiating the modest hike in the existing fares. The increase in fares
now ranges from USD 3 one way for short-haul flights to USD 10 round
trip for flights covering more than 500 miles.
The US
domestic airlines include Alaska Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta
Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, US
Airways and Virgin America.
