Jetstar Group and Qantas to widen their codeshare agreement

Jetstar Group and Qantas Airways recently announced the expansion of their codeshare agreement. According to the extended agreement both the groups will cover 11 routes that originate from the Singapore’s Changi International Airport.

Jetstar Asia and Valuair the two airways under the Jetstar Group will carry Qantas flight passengers to Jakarta, Aukland, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Osaka, Denpasar, Penang, Ho Chi Minh City, Phuket, Hong Kong and Taipei.

The tickets for the codeshare routes could be booked from 1st March 2011, which will be valid for the travel period that starts from 1st April 2011. The agreement will also include the Jetstar Asia new Singapore-Auckland route. Airbus A330 aircraft will serve on this new route that will begin from 17th March 2011.

The extension of the codesharing will benefit the passengers as they will have wider connectivity options with the Changi International Airport. Along with this the Qantas passengers will enjoy seamless booking and ticketing experience, with full baggage connectivity, standard Qantas baggage allowance and complimentary meals.
