747-8 Intercontinental premiered at Seattle by Boeing

by 14. February 2011 03:18
Boeing recently unveiled the new generation 747-8 jumbo intercontinental aircraft sporting a striking red-orange livery at its factory in Everett, Seattle.

Around 10,000 guests were invited to the event ceremony that took place Sunday evening Pacific Standard Time.

Lufthansa, the launched customer of the aircraft, said that the aircraft will be configured with 386 seats in three classes.

The 747-800, widely known as 747-8 Intercontinental or 747-8I, is the world’s longest passenger aircraft, and is longer than its predecessor 747-400 and Airbus A340-600 by 5.6 meter and one meter respectively.

Boeing spokesperson said that the one-off Sunrise livery "honors many key Boeing customers whose cultures recognize these colors as symbols of prosperity and good luck".
