Gulf Air, principal flag carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, recently launched the four-time weekly service to Kabul. The new flight service will begin from 15th June 2011. With this launch Gulf Air will become the first airline to provide ‘full service scheduled commercial carriers in Middle East’ to operate flights to Kabul.
The airline will operate its A320 aircraft, which will be equipped with 16 Falcon Gold Business Class seats and 120 coach class seats.
The new flights will depart from Bahrain at 11.15 am on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and will arrive at 03.50 pm. The round trip flights will depart from Kabul at 04.50 pm and will arrive in Bahrain at 06.45 pm.
“The launch of the flight service had followed extensive safety and security audits, and is committed to facilitate and promote the development of a dynamic, competitive private sector by closely working in partnership with local businesses to revitalize and expand the economy, ” said, Samer Majali, CEO Gulf Air.
The airline has recently launched other flight services to other destinations such as Addis Ababa, Isfahan, Basra, Milan and Geneva.
