by Richa G 13. February 2013 09:25

Icelandair has increased its purchase order made to Boeing. Earlier the airline was purchasing 16 Boeing 737 Max, but has now confirmed to purchase 4 more 737 Max, now increasing the total to 16 Boeing 737 Max.

The airlines said that it will be now buying one Boeing 737-8 and three 737-9s and hence increasing its initial order of a dozen of aircrafts to 16. Now under the revised agreement between Icelandair and Boeing, the aircraft manufacture will deliver a total of seven 737-9s and nine 737-8s.

All the aircrafts will be delivered by Boeing between 2018 and 2021. The airlines said that roughly this purchase would cost them 1.6 million American dollars. Boeing 737-8 will have 153 seats and Boeing 737-9 will have 172 seats.
