Frontier Airlines is returning back to Fresno Yosemite airport after six years. In a recent announcement the airline said that it will from May 17 resume its cheap flights service between its hub Denver and Fresno. The airline had discontinued its service to Fresno in June 2007.
The low-cost carrier will operate Airbus 319 aircraft offering 138 seats. To mark the celebration of this service the airline is also offering introductory fares on this route. Passengers can now book flight tickets on this route starting as low as $69* one-way. The fares remain good for travel up to September 8, 2013.
Back in 2005 Frontier had a good hold on the Fresno market. The airlines saw goo ridership on this route for next few months. However the flight was not as profitable as Frontier wanted it to be and hence, they decided to discontinue the same. Commercial senior vice president for Frontier, Daniel Shurz said that the airline is looking forward for the second inning on this route. And it feels that with their cheap tickets they will be able to lure the Colorado, Oregon and California passengers.
*Fares are one-way, per person, and include all applicable government taxes and fees. Other terms and conditions are applicable.
