Air China recently started its new flights services between Chengdu and Frankfurt. The airline launched flights to Frankfurt on May 19, 2013 from Chengdu, its important regional hub in southwestern China.
Air China is operating the flights on Chengdu-Frankfurt route with the help of an Airbus A330-200 aircraft. The customers booking business class flights on this route would be offered lie-flat seats in the business class cabins.
By launching new service on this route, Air China wants to increase prominence of Chengdu as southwestern China’s air transportation hub and offer more economical and faster option for travelers between Europe and southwestern China.
Currently, Air China connects Chengdu with over 62 domestic, regional and international routes. Alongside Beijing and Shanghai, the airline considers Chengdu as its main hub in southwestern China.
The airline has indicated that it would be offering thrice weekly services utilizing its Airbus A330-200 aircraft. The flights would be operated on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
