Travelers from Indonesia and other destinations would get multiple flight options and opportunity to book air tickets at cheap rates for travel to destinations worldwide.
Media reports recently said that Garuda Indonesia, the national flag carrier of Indonesia, would be joining SkyTeam, a leading global airline alliance, as its newest member in March next year.
Garuda Indonesia will become the 20th member of the SkyTeam alliance. The airline will also be the second carrier from Southeast Asia to join SkyTeam.
Media reports indicated that SkyTeam will upgrade benefits being currently offered to elite members of member airlines’ frequent flyer programs, across the alliance.
The upgrades to be implemented include SkyPriority services at each of 1,000 destinations currently covered under SkyTeam. Apart from this, SkyPriority will also be expanded to include dedicated security lanes, SkyPriority baggage desks at arrival halls, and SkyPriority call centers to offer support for customers.
