British Airways recently took the delivery of its first superjumbo Airbus A380 aircraft. The airline received the aircraft at London’s Heathrow Airport.
British Airways is the first carrier in the UK to take the delivery of the double-decker, which also happens to be the largest commercial jet in the world.
The Flag Carrier of the UK has also become the first airline in Europe to operate both the A380 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircrafts. British Airways flights on A380 to Los Angeles would be the airline’s first long-haul destination. The flight would begin from September 24, 2013. The airline will also begin A380 flight to Hong Kong from October 22 this year.
The airline said that the A380 and Boeing 787 aircrafts will now start a new era for British Airways. The airline is expected to take delivery of new aircrafts over the next 15 months.
