Cape Air launches flights on T.F. Green-Block Island route

Cape Air has launched its new flights services between T.F. Green Airport and Block Island. The flights between the two destinations are being operated daily. The new flights to Block Island will be a part of the airline’s seasonal service schedule.

The airline is presently operating seasonal flights to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket from T.F. Green Airport. The flights to these two islands out of T.F. Green Airport are being operated since it began 17 years ago. Cape Air said that the flights between T.F. Green Airport and Block Island take only 34 minutes duration to reach.

Hyannis-based Cape Air said that the duration of flights between T.F. Green Airport and Nantucket is 37 minute, while it takes flights 26 minutes to reach Martha’s Vineyard from T.F. Green Airport.

The seasonal flights to Block Island started earlier than its scheduled date because of the increased demand. The airline said that it started its service to Block Island much before the seasonal flights to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. The seasonal flights will operate until mid-October 2014.

President and CEO of the R.I. Airport Corporation Kelly Fredericks said that the launch of service to Block Island by Cape Air provides great opportunity to the travelers from near and far to enjoy their summer vacation or simply make a quick day trip to the island.

Linda Markham, President of Cape Air, said that with the launch of seasonal flights to Block Island out of T.F. Green Airport the airline wants to provide quick and seamless access to the customers apart from offering a fabulous and memorable experience.
