Caribbean Airlines likely to launch flights on Grenada-London route
Caribbean Airlines flights are likely to be started between Grenada and London. Senator George Vincent, Grenada’s Tourism Minister, recently said that the country’s Airlift Committee is holding discussions with the airline to start flight services on the Grenada-London route.
The Tourism Minister made this announcement after British Airways revealed that it will be curtailing flights to Grenada starting next year.
British Airways currently operates twice weekly seasonal flights to Grenada in summer. The airline has now decided to reduce the flights to Grenada from twice weekly to just one flight every week on Sundays from 2013.
Vincent said that the Grenada Airlift Committee is doing a commendable work, and making extensive and continuous efforts to get Caribbean Airlines flights being operated on Grenada-London route.
He said that the negotiations with Caribbean Airlines is expected to bring positive results and the void created by British Airways’ recent decision to curtail flights to Grenada will be fulfilled by Caribbean Airlines.
