China Southern Airlines and Air China into codeshare agreement on Beijing-Paris route
China Southern Airlines recently announced it has entered into a codeshare agreement with Air China on Beijing-Paris route.
The airline in a statement said that under the codeshare agreement China Southern Airlines flights will be operated between Beijing and Paris with the help of an Airbus A380 aircraft in association with Air China from October this year.
Both the carriers – China Southern Airlines and Air China – have said that they would make efforts to set up a joint venture in order to share revenues and operating expenses.
China Southern Airlines had placed orders for five Airbus A380 aircrafts, and has already received three of these aircrafts. The airline said that the fourth aircraft is also due to be delivered this month, while the fifth aircraft will be delivered in January next year.
Currently, China Southern Airlines operates two Airbus A380 aircrafts on the Beijing-Guangzhou route, while one Airbus A380 is being operated on Beijing-Hong Kong route. The airline is also planning to operate an Airbus A380 aircraft on Guangzhou-Los Angeles route from October 12 this year.
