Icelandair summer service brings Alaska closer
The starting of nonstop Icelandair flights service this summer between Reykjavik and Anchorage will bring Alaska even closer.
Icelandair recently announced it will launch its nonstop flights service between Reykjavik (Iceland) and Anchorage (Alaska) in May this year.
The inaugural flight is scheduled to start from May 15, 2013. Icelandair will be operating the flights between the two destinations starting May through September.
The launch of new Reykjavik-Anchorage route is aimed at strengthening Alaska’s connection to Europe.
Currently, Icelandair is operating flights to 21 cities in 14 European countries, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Germany and UK.
Anchorage will be the tenth North American city to be connected to Europe through Keflavik International Airport by Icelandair.
