Lufthansa resumes flights to Tripoli, Austrian Airlines to resume March 25

Germany’s flag carrier Lufthansa recently resumed its flights to Tripoli from Frankfurt. The flights were reinstated by the airline to the Libyan capital on February 2, 2012.
The airline said that it has deployed Airbus A319 aircraft on Frankfurt -Tripoli route to be served three times every week, on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays. According to Lufthansa, the flight will depart Frankfurt in the morning and will arrive in Tripoli three hours later. While, the return flight will depart from Tripoli in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, Austrian Airlines has also announced that it will resume its flights to Tripoli from Vienna effective March 25, 2012. The airline said that it will operate its flight services five times every week. The flight will depart from Vienna at 09.55 am and will land at Tripoli at 12.45 pm. The return flight will depart Tripoli at 1.45 pm and arrive at Vienna at 4.40 pm.
Both the airlines had to suspend their flight services to Tripoli because of the political turmoil in Libya. Now, with the formation of a new government and return of normalcy both the carriers decided to resume their flight operations to Libya.
