Aer Lingus expanding transatlantic operations in 2017

Ireland’s flagship carrier Aer Lingus is planning to provide greater travel options for UK customers to fly to North America. The UK travelers would be able to take advantage of this during the 2017 summer schedule.

The airline has indicated that it is going to increase frequencies on many routes, and is also set to expand its long-haul international network with the launch of its new flights between Miami and Dublin starting from September 2017. The new Dublin-Miami route is going to be served with thrice weekly flights services.

A spokesperson of Aer Lingus said that the Dublin-Miami service would be in addition to the airline’s existing transatlantic routes. The North American gateways being currently served by the airline include Toronto, Washington D.C., San Francisco, Orlando, New York, Chicago and Boston. These destinations are being served from Dublin and Shannon. Earlier this year, the airline launched flights to Hartford, Newark Liberty and Los Angeles.

Providing details about its 2017 summer schedule, Aer Lingus in a statement said that it will be increasing the frequencies of its Los Angeles service to daily. The frequencies on Orlando-Dublin route is also being increased to four-times per week. The airline has also decided to increase the frequencies on its Chicago route as well with a twice daily service.

Media reports said that travelers from UK planning to take flights to the U.S. stand to benefit immensely. Aer Lingus is presently offering seamless connections to transatlantic destinations from 18 major airports in the UK. While connecting in Dublin, the airline’s customers can take advantage of the pre-clearance by U.S. Customs and Immigration, which allows them to easily pass through domestic channels after landing at any U.S. airport when the airline is conducting its flights services. This makes their journey hassle free with convenient and swift arrival in the United States.

Aer Lingus will be offering its premium customers fully lie-flat beds in its revamped business class cabins. The customers can look forward to more space and storage, and enhanced comfort than previously. Among other amenities offered on the airline’s business class flights include a state-of-the-art inflight entertainment system preloaded with latest films, music and TV programs, and complimentary meals and beverages.
