Air France introduces Boeing 777 aircraft with new cabins

Air France, the flag carrier of France, recently launched the first Boeing 777 aircraft with improved cabin designs. The inaugural flight operated between Paris and New York on June 24, 2014.

The new cabin design has new features and perks that provide business passengers with added benefit. The business class seats have 1-2-1 seating configuration with direct aisle access and added privacy screens. Each seat has a length of 77 inch and a width of 27 inch with original duvet cushioning. The seat can be converted to fully flat bed whenever required. Business travelers are offered in-flight entertainment with 16 inch TV screens and headphones with noise cancelation feature. The improved cabins will allow the travelers to fly long haul much more easily and comfortably. Apart from this, the most notable perk for all long distance international travelers is a glass of champagne provided onboard.

The new design has different variations in other classes. The economy seats are now much thinner and lighter thereby making the weight of the plane reduced by 1,000 pounds. The economy cabin will have 9-inch screen with power socket for charging gadgets. The premium economy seats are 40 percent more spacious and have footrests as well as 12 inch TV screen.

The carrier will be implementing the new cabin design on 44 Boeing 777 aircrafts gradually. By the end of 2014, the new cabins will be made available on flights to Houston, Tokyo-Haneda, Shanghai, Jakarta, and Singapore. By early 2015, the improved cabins will be installed on flights to Dubai, Sao Paulo, and Douala.

The aircrafts will have a total of 2,102 new Business class seats, 1,100 premium economy seats, and 10,000 economy seats.

Alexandre de Juniac, chairman and CEO of Air France, said that the airline will be focusing on financial development and improving the quality of services. With the launch of the new cabins in Boeing 777s the airline will be taking a major step forward in this process. The airline will also endeavor to provide optimum service onboard as well as on the ground.
