Air France launches nonstop flights to Vancouver from Paris CDG

Air France recently launched its nonstop flights to Vancouver from Paris. The airline started operating its service between Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) effective from March 29, 2015. The service between the two cities will be operated five times per week.

The airline in a statement said that it has deployed a Boeing 777-200 aircraft to serve the route. The aircraft has a capacity to hold a total of 309 passengers. The airline will be offering 35 seats in Business Class, 24 seats in Premium Economy and 250 seats in Economy Class.

A spokesperson of Air France said that the airline will be offering its new Best&Beyond cabins on Vancouver-Paris CDG route from July 13 this year. The launch of new flights to Vancouver will see Air France adopting Canada’s national motto “From sea to sea”. Apart from operating new service to Vancouver, the airline is currently serving two other destinations in Canada – Montreal and Toronto.

With the launch of new service to Vancouver, the airline will now be offering direct flights to western Canada. Air France’s partner KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is also serving Canadian cities.

Craig Richmond, President and CEO, Vancouver Airport Authority, said, “It is a matter of great privilege that Air France has launched its direct services from YVR. The growing demand from British Columbians to start direct flights from Paris has prompted the French national carrier to reciprocate to this demand and begin operations. This is a welcome move by the airline and would increase the tourism, business and trade prospects between France and Canada further.”
