Alaska Airlines introduces new daily nonstop Seattle-Fort Lauderdale flights
Alaska Airlines recently announced the launch of its new nonstop flights services between Fort Lauderdale and Seattle to be operated daily. The airline put its air tickets on sale for its flights, which started operations from July 19, 2012.
The airline in a statement said that it will discontinue its flights to Miami, with the new Seattle-Fort Lauderdale route becoming operational. Alaska Airlines has been serving from its Seattle hub ever since 2002.
Joe Sprague, Vice President – Marketing of Alaska Airlines, said that discontinuing of flights to Miami is going to have minimal effect on the customers. He said that the distance between Fort Lauderdale and Miami airports is only 27 miles, and this should not cause much difficulty to travelers from Miami.
Sprague said that the redirecting of flights to Fort Lauderdale airport is going to prove to be of great benefit to the travelers as the airline will be able to serve flights services to the same geographic region and continue offering low fares to the customers.
