American Airlines June 2012 passenger revenue up 8.6 percent

The month of June this year has proved to be just great for the leading U.S. carrier American Airlines. The airline recently announced its operational results for the month of June 2012 and sounded optimistic at the outcome.

The airline, while providing details of its outcome, in a statement said that the sale of air tickets was quite appreciable this June.

Virasb Vahidi, COO of American Airlines, said that the flights put up a great performance boosting the passenger revenue by 8.6 percent. He said that a strong demand in June this year resulted in good passenger revenue earnings for the airline.

Vahidi also disclosed that the partnerships with Iberia, Japan Airlines and British Airways great helped American Airlines in generating additional revenues. 

American Airlines revealed that its flying capacity was reduced by 2.6 percent in June, though there was a slight decline in its passenger traffic by only 1 percent. The airline also stated that its occupancy increased to 87.1 percent, from 85.7 percent as compared to the same month in 2011.
