Oct 04, 2011
Bangkok Airways, a Thai private airline, has introduced direct flights to Bangalore and in the process added more business class airline options for those who seek luxury in the air.
Launched on September 26th, 2011, the Bangkok-Bangalore direct flight is expected to find popularity amongst India bound travelers; much as their earlier Mumbai flights, which enjoy a load factor of 70%.
Bangalore is a major outsourcing hub in India and a hot destination for business class travelers. Besides adding business class flights to Bangalore, the airline is also looking to add flights to Lucknow, Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai. Other destinations would be added as well but that would be done through Code-share agreement for which the airlines may consider Kingfisher, Finnair, Malaysian Airlines and SilkAir.
The Bangalore bound flights would be operated on an Airbus 319. The airplane has a 120 seat capacity with 12 business class seats and 108 economy seats. To begin with the frequency would be five times weekly, post which the frequency would increase to daily flights.
If you want to make some savings, book this October 31st to travel till December 15th. The new flights would leave Bangalore at 01.40 hours and reach Bangkok at 06.45 hours. While returning, the flight would depart from Bangkok at 22.35 hours and reach Bangalore at 00.50 hours.
