Boring amenity kits are now passé. Re-purpose them creatively!

The amenity kits offered to customers in first class and business class flights on long-haul airlines were quite boring for past several years. But this has gradually changed now. Airlines have become smarter and know how to keep their premium customers happy for a long time.

Many international carriers are now greatly focusing on offering exquisite amenity kits that can later on be re-purposed in many creative ways. The amenity kits provided in past years in fact were quite similar in looks and proved to be just “cosmetic cases”, of little or no use in future. Their design had little creativity and most passengers avoided carrying along with them while de-boarding the plane. At the most they only removed those contents that they thought to be valuable.

All this has changed now, particularly from this year. Many airlines are now offering designer amenity kits to those either traveling in first class or booking business class flights. The design kits being offered now have their utility in the future as well after the contents have been removed or used.

Just sample the design kits being offered by major airlines to their privileged customers and how they can be used later on. The amenity kits being provided by British Airways to its Club (business) class customers can be used as a shoe bag, among other things, after being emptied. Swiss has designed amenity kits in different ways depending on the season and provides them accordingly to its customers. The kits provided during winter can be used as an iPad case or even a neck warmer, a hat or a Christmas stocking.

The amenity kits provided by American Airlines to its first class customers can be used to keep an iPad mini. Design kits offered by Singapore Airlines in first class are mostly loved by ladies who love to carry them as evening clutches.
