British Airways pre-order meal service extended to 21 routes

British Airways recently extended its pre-order meal service to 21 routes from the earlier six. The extended service became effective from February 5, 2015. The service is applicable to customers booking business class flights in its Club World cabins or those traveling in First Class and World Traveller Plus as well.
 
The extended routes from London Heathrow include Austin, Houston, San Diego, Mexico City, Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo. The customers traveling in either of these classes will now be able to pre-order their meals much in advance prior to their scheduled date of travel.

British Airways in a statement further said that from March 1 onwards this year the pre-order meal service will be extended to at least nine more destinations from London Heathrow Airport. These destinations include Calgary, Montreal, Toronto, Baltimore, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, Denver and Atlanta.

According to the airline, the customers can pre-order their meals between 30 days and 24 hours prior to their scheduled departure. The menus offered in First Class and Club World is updated every month. The customers can select from three or four main dishes available. The menus for World Traveller Plus is however updated every three months with customers allowed to select their main dishes from two options only.

The airline said that the pre-meal order service would be available to customers on all long-haul international flights from Heathrow Airport, and later from London Gatwick Airport, by the end of this year.

British Airways first launched its pre-order meal service in December 2014 on flights to Seattle, Dallas/Fort Worth, Vancouver, Rio de Janeiro, Phoenix and Las Vegas from London Heathrow Airport.
