Cathay Pacific Airways revamps business lounge at Hong Kong
Feb 09, 2012
Cathay Pacific Airways recently reopened its refurbished Wing Business lounge at the Hong Kong International Airport. The airline undertook extensive revamping exercise in late 2010.
With the reopening of the lounge, passengers who booked business class seats can now savor Chinese buns or ‘bao’, including the popular Char Siu Bao, along with made-to-order hot noodles, at the redesigned Noodle Bar. The self-service buffet counters at the bar feature an array of Asian and Western hot dishes along with cold food selections. The Noodle Bar has been relocated from its original enclosed area to a larger open-ceiling space with sufficient sunlight and natural live bamboo decorations.
The iconic Long Bar, stretching for 23 meters, has also been redone in white Carrara marble. The bar is complemented by Cathay Pacific Airways’ several bespoke Solus workstation-pod chairs.
The newly-opened ‘The Coffee Loft’ offers travelers option to enjoy a view over the airport along with a cup of freshly brewed coffee or tea and a fresh-baked pastry. In the evening, the Coffee Loft becomes amazing by turning into a cocktail bar.
Besides first and business class passengers, the Wing Business Lounge is also open to members of oneworld with Sapphire-class status or higher, which includes Silver and above for Cathay Pacific Airways’ Marco Polo Club, and Qantas Frequent Flyer Gold or Platinum.
