Delta Air Lines announces June operational results, traffic increases

Delta Air Lines recently announced its operational results for the month of June 2012 and sounded quite upbeat at the outcome.

Providing details about the results, the airline in a statement said that it succeeded in selling air tickets in good numbers last month as its passenger revenue grew 8 percent.

The airline stated that it was able to attract business class travelers in great numbers and also benefited from its expanded flights services at New York’s LaGuardia International Airport.

The airline said that its increase in its passenger revenue to 8 percent in June 2012 as compared to the same month in 2011, was absolutely on target as it had predicted earlier last month. The PRASM (passenger revenue per available seat mile) is a measurement to gauge the actual earnings made by the airline from a paying passenger flown a single mile.

Delta Air Lines has, however, said that it fears that its earnings in the second quarter of this year will be greatly impacted due to ever increasing jet fuel prices.
