Delta Air Lines to expand service in Atlanta

Delta Air Lines announced daily flight between Kalamazoo and Atlanta. This additional service will operate from December 20, 2014 to January 4, 2015.

The flights on this route will fly from Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The daily flight will use 50-seat regional jet. The added flight will help passengers fly conveniently between Michigan and Georgia, the two popular states of USA.

David Reid, Director of Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport, said that Delta was flying flights on this route only on Saturdays. This weekly flight out of Kalamazoo was quite famous. The fights were operated using 50-seat regional jets that remained 85 to 100 percent full. The carrier has announced to provide daily service for two weeks during peak holiday season. He further added that the airline will continue to operate the daily flights using the same jet.

The Saturday flight on Kalamazoo-Atlanta route departs Kalamazoo at 8:50 a.m. and arrives in Atlanta at 10:43 a.m. The return flight leaves Atlanta at 5:39 p.m. and arrives in Kalamazoo at 7:36 p.m.

The airline began to offer weekly, direct flights from Saginaw, Lansing, and Kalamazoo to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in February. This seasonal trial flight was discontinued by the end of May and again resumed on July.

David Reid, said that the once-per week Atlanta flight worked quite favorably for Delta Air Lines. This has been considered as a positive sign to introduce daily service between Atlanta and Kalamazoo. The southbound passengers are finding AZO to be an attractive choice. Delta and other airlines consider the flights to and from this airport as a major point of discussion. The airport has American Airlines and its associates as its main commercial air carrier. The director was persuading Delta airlines to add more flights from this airport owing to its lucrative travel market. The persuasion was now heard by the airline.
