Etihad Airways launching new premium class to New York December 1

Etihad Airways is all set to introduce new premium classes on its recently acquired Boeing 787 and Airbus A380 aircrafts to be operated between New York and Abu Dhabi effective from December 1, 2015. UAE’s national carrier has of late become great favorites with luxury lovers who are ready to pay a hefty amount for a highly luxurious and comfortable travel experience.

Etihad Airways has announced it will be launching its new “Studios” in business class and “Apartments” in first class. To offer even more ultra luxurious flying experience, the airline will also be offering a huge 3-room “Residence” on board these aircrafts on the lucrative Abu Dhabi-New York route.

With the launch of its 3-room “Residence”, Etihad Airways has now become the first airline in the world to offer the largest suite of its kind so far in the air, which will also be featuring its own butler.

However, even as Etihad Airways is celebrating its various industry-first achievements, the leading Middle East carrier is facing a barrage of protests from major U.S. carriers such as American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines for having violated International Open Skies agreements by having received more than $41 billion in government subsidies. Apart from Etihad Airways, other Gulf carriers like Emirates Airline and Qatar Airways are also facing massive protests from U.S. legacy carriers.

Delta Air Lines has particularly accused Etihad Airways of hurting its interests with its continued expansion. The airline said that it has been affected the most by Etihad’s expansion between the Indian Subcontinent and the United States.
