Etihad Airways reports record premium cabin bookings
Leading carrier in the Middle East Etihad Airways recently announced it achieved a new milestone on June 11 with more than 65,500 flight bookings.
The airline stated that this was the highest number of bookings ever made in a single day, exceeding the previous record on January 9, by 13 percent.
According to Etihad Airways, the passenger bookings for June 14 to June 17, 2012 are the highest of any four days previously experienced by the airline.
The airline in a statement said that the advance premium cabin bookings for a single day are also set to beat previous records, with nearly 2,900 combined bookings already received for First Class (Diamond First) and Business Class (Pearl Business) flights on June 17.
Overall, the most popular destinations for travel over June 14 to 17 period included Bangkok, London, Jeddah, Manila and Riyadh. The top premium travel destinations included Paris, Sydney and Frankfurt.
Etihad Airways revealed that there are a total of 280,498 seats available on flights every week as compared to 235,818 seats per week last summer, which is an increase of 19 percent.
