Etihad Airways schedule changes to better connect U.S. and India

Etihad Airways wants to better connect its customers to the North America and India. The airline recently announced a number of changes in its flight schedule between its main hub at Abu Dhabi and North American destinations such as Toronto, New York and Chicago. The schedule changes will be effective from March 29, 2015.

Kevin Knight, Etihad Airways’ Chief Strategy and Planning Officer, said, “The flight schedule is being changed to provide convenient options to customers from UAE to seamlessly travel to North America and also to further enhance connectivity to/from the Indian Subcontinent.”

Kevin also said that the demand for travel between North America and Indian Subcontinent has been growing year after year. Considering the passengers’ needs and demands the airline has decided to bring changes to its current schedule and significantly increase the travel options with cheap airfares than before.

According to the airline, the Flight EY151 being operated daily to Chicago from 9.30 am will now depart much earlier at 3.40 am. The timing of Flight EY141 to Toronto has also been changed. The thrice weekly flights will now depart at 2.50 am instead of the existing 10.25 am. The return Flight EY150 from Chicago will now make its arrival in Abu Dhabi at 12.20 pm, while Flight EY140 from Toronto will reach the UAE capital city at 12.05 pm. The airline said that with the new changes in flight schedule the customers will be offered faster connection times during non-peak period.

The destinations in the Indian Subcontinent being presently served by the airline include Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Kathmandu, Colombo, Lahore and Karachi.
