Finnair premium lounge takes design to the next level

Finnair has become one of the highly popular carriers in Europe to offer best one-stop flights services across the world. The airline recently extended its U.S. network offering increased options for travelers from Europe and the Middle East

Helsinki firm dSign Vertti Kivi was hired to design the airline’s newly inaugurated Premium Lounge during last summer. The lounge is situated adjacent to the Helsinki International Airport’s business class lounge nearby Gate 36.

The access of the lounge is open exclusively to Gold and Platinum Finnair Plus members along with other top-tier oneworld members. The lounge comprises of three separate areas – elevated quiet lounge, main lounge at ground level and a dining area.

The lounge is simply exquisite and showcases Finnish-inspired design with beautiful white finishes and clean, chic lines. The airline has taken several factors into account when building the new lounge, which is aimed at providing great comfort to the visitors.

Finnair has decked up the lounge with Iittala Ultima Thule glasses and Marimekko tableware. The furniture has also been carefully selected. The lounge has a seating capacity for 120 visitors and is well equipped with various amenities.

A self-catered buffet is situated near the entrance area. It offers delicious Scandinavian cold dishes as well as warming soups along with freshly-baked bread. The visitors can also make use of the main dining area where conventional tables are also placed.

The lounge also has a relaxation area in the central part. The visitors can relax in this well-ventilated and curtain-walled area, which is equipped with small side tables, big contemporary leather reclining chairs and designer floor lamps, prior to boarding their flights.
