Finnair offer exclusive menus on long-haul business class flights

Here’s good news for all those booking business class flights on Finnair’s long-haul international routes. The airline has started offering exclusively designed menus by some of the top chefs in Finland effective from January 28, 2015. The gourmet menus will be offered when taking flights out of Helsinki.

The airline in a statement said that it will start serving the first in a series of exclusively designed menus by Chef Matti Jämsén, which will offered to the customers until April 2015.

Maarit Keränen, Head of Service Concept at Finnair, said that Matti Jämsén is a highly acclaimed chef in Finland. He has worked in some of the top kitchens in European countries. He was associated with the popular Michelin starred restaurant Bagatelle while in Oslo. This restaurant is renowned for its art-filled walls. He also worked at Die Quadriga restaurant in Berlin. He was a proud recipient of his own Michelin star while working at this famous Berlin restaurant.

Matti Jämsén has been greatly appreciated for his expertise. He was acknowledged for his work and won the title of Finland’s ‘Chef of the Year’ in 2004. Jämsén will also be representing Finland during the 2015 Bocuse d’Or, a prominent cooking competition in the world.

According to Finnair, the exclusively designed Signature Menu by Matti Jämsén will be featuring classic seasonal dishes that will be quite unique. Best seasonal ingredients with bold flavors will be the hallmark of these dishes. Get ready to enjoy some of the exquisite, highly delicious dishes offered on board your flight such as glazed pork cheek with parmesan potato gnocchi, roasted Jerusalem artichoke soup or salt-sugar cured salmon.
