Lufthansa to stream in-flight entertainment by Wi-Fi to mobiles

Are you a Lufthansa customer buying airline tickets to fly on medium sector routes? If so, then get ready for surprises!

Lufthansa has announced its customers traveling on medium sector routes would be able to stream in-flight entertainment by Wi-Fi direct to their mobile devices from next year.

The airline said that the new IFE system would be offering the passengers a wide range of information, films, music, TV shows and games. The passengers traveling to destinations in North Africa, Middle East and some areas of Russia would take advantage of the new service.

According to Lufthansa, the passengers who want to use the service can connect to the in-flight infotainment server via Wi-Fi using their own smartphones, tablets or laptops.

The airline will be fitting with this IFE option on its 20 Airbus A321 aircrafts by next year. The airline said that the IFE system had been quite popular with the passengers during its trail run over several months earlier this year.
