Major airlines into stiff competition to offer upgraded cabins

The trend in the aviation industry worldwide is fast changing. This has led to a stiff competition among various international airlines to offer upgraded products in order to attract customers in a big way.

Qatar Airways recently announced it will be launching its Airbus A350-900 aircrafts in a two-class configuration soon. The customers booking business class flights will be offered 36 business class seats in a 1-2-1 layout. The fully lie-flat bed seats will provide direct aisle access. The business class cabin on the new aircraft is also quite distinctive in comparison to those being offered by some leading Western carriers, particularly in terms of seat design. According to the airline, the interior innovations in the new A350 aircraft include “dynamic LED mood lighting” designed to effectively ease the fatigue of long-haul flights. The lighting will change at different times of the flight depending on the time of the day and destination thus providing a different ambience.

Finnair is yet another important international carrier which is all set to provide a great flying experience to its customers on its A350 aircrafts. The airline said that the aircraft’s cabin will be flooded with warm sunset tones when it will be approaching Asia-Pacific destinations. The tones will however mimic the colors of a Scandinavian sky when the aircraft will be arriving in Nordic countries. There will be a total of 24 lighting schemes, including those of the Northern Lights and a clear blue, in order to change the mood of the travelers. The aircraft has also been fitted with 46 Zodiac Aerospace Cirrus III seats in business class cabin in a 1-2-1 layout with a direct aisle access for all customers.
