New Canadian ultra LCC Jetlines bracing for launch in spring

Here’s good news awaiting Canadians booking flights to/from the United States. A new ultra low-cost carrier Jetlines is readying for an ambitious launch in spring 2015. Media reports said that with the advent of the new airline on Canada’s aviation scene there will be more travel options and cheap airfares than ever before.

The reports indicated that when Jetlines becomes functional, the travelers can look forward to tickets priced at least 40 percent cheaper than what is being currently offered by two leading Canadian carriers Air Canada and WestJet Airlines.

Media reports quoting David Solloway, President of Vancouver-based startup Canada Jetlines Ltd., said that the new airline will be all set to begin conducting flights from spring next year. The airline will also be readying itself for the big challenge ahead and give tough times to some of the largest Canadian and U.S. competitors presently adopting the so-called ultra low-cost approach.

Solloway said that the entire operations of Jetlines will be based on a quite strict business model. He said that the airline’s major focus would be on providing the lowest possible price to Canadians while offering them a comfortable and safe jet service.

Jetlines will initially start offering flights services on routes in Western Canada. Later on, the airline will aim to extend its network countrywide. The airline won’t stop at this and mull providing service to U.S. destinations at later stages. The airline also plans to serve select vacation spots as well.

Solloway cited the examples of low-cost carriers such as Spirit Airlines, Allegiant Air, Ryanair and AirAsia, which have proved to be a successful business model. He said that such an ultra low-cost airline has so far been missing from the Canadian aviation market.
