Qantas Airways wins 2014 Best Airline Australia-Pacific award

Australia’s national carrier Qantas Airways was presented the “Best Airline Australia-Pacific” award during the recently-concluded 2014 Skytrax World Airline Awards ceremony. The airline won the award in the same category for the second consecutive year. The airline has emerged among the world’s top 100 airlines and is presently ranked 11th.

Apart from this, Qantas Airways has also attained prominent place among the top 10 airlines in the world in several categories. Recent media reports said that the airline was placed at the 6th rank in the “Best Airline Business Class” category. The airline was also placed fourth in the “Best Business Airline Lounges” and “Best Airline In-flight Entertainment” categories.

Qantas Airways has over the past one year made several upgrades and providing excellent customer service. The upgrades include a new range of luxury spa treatments and products by Aurora Spa, enhanced food and wine lists, establishing new lounges in Los Angeles and Hong Kong, and upgraded iPhone app.

The flagship carrier said that its first refurbished Airbus A330 aircraft will be entering into service by the end of 2014. The airline offered various privileges to its customers in 2013. The Select on Q-Eat service was extended to the customers traveling in the airline’s Premium Economy cabins. This enabled those traveling in this class to order their meals online prior to their flights. This service offered more choices, including an additional dish as an online exclusive on some select routes.

As part of its business class offerings, the International Business Sleep Service being provided by Qantas Airways to its customers booking business class tickets include a duvet, a mattress and a special T2 wellbeing tea blend exclusively designed for encouraging sleep. When the customers are fully prepared and ready to sleep, a turndown service is also offered by the cabin crew.
