Qatar Airways new premium lounge for First and Business Class passengers at London Heathrow soon
Jan 27, 2012
Qatar Airways recently announced that it will be opening its new Premium Lounge at London Heathrow this week. The opening of the lounge indicates that the airline considers Doha-London Heathrow route among busiest routes.
To be opened at London Heathrow’s Terminal 4, this will be Qatar Airway’s first dedicated facility for First and Business Class passengers outside its Doha hub.
Currently, the airline is operating a premium lounge exclusively for First and Business Class passengers at Doha International airport only.
The opening of the new premium lounge comes amid start of yet another busy year for Qatar Airways. The airline recently introduced new routes in its global network, and also increased the capacity on London Heathrow-Doha route, from four to five flights daily effective from March 25, 2012.
Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways, said that London has been the carrier’s best-performing routes. With the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to be held this summer, opening of the new premium lounge will be a significant boost to the airline’s revenues, said Al Baker.
