Royal Jordanian begin Boeing 787 flights to North America

Royal Jordanian Airlines has deployed its newly acquired Boeing 787 aircraft to operate flights to North America. The airline was until now operating flights on North American routes utilizing its Airbus A340 aircraft.

The airline’s first Dreamliner landed at Montreal’s Pierre Elliot Trudeau International Airport in early December this year and later on headed off to the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport the same say. This was the airline’s first Dreamliner service to the two North American airports – one in Canada and another in United States. The airline first started serving the key U.S. cities Chicago and New York with Boeing 787 service in November 2014.

The airline’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft has a capacity to accommodate a total of 270 passengers on a single flight. The two-class aircraft has been configured with a business class cabin, also known as Crown Class, and has a seating capacity of 24 premium passengers. The customers booking business class tickets for traveling to the North American destinations will be offered fully 180 degree lie-flat beds.

Captain Haitham Misto, Acting President/CEO of Royal Jordanian Airlines, said that the United States and Canada are the two major markets responsible for generating big traffic in the airline’s overall operations.

Royal Jordanian Airlines is presently operating flights to Chicago from Amman and offers five weekly flights services. The flights to New York from the Jordanian capital are being operated four times per week. The other two North American destinations – Detroit and Montreal – will be served twice weekly services. The airline however increases the frequencies to North American destinations during the summer season.
