Southwest Airlines announces new routes to Cancun in collaboration with AirTran

Southwest Airlines along with its own subsidiary AirTran Airways today finally received approval from the U.S. Department of Transport to start new flights to Cancun. AirTran Airways will operate flights between Denver International Airport and Cancun International Airport and between Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and Cancun International Airport.
The new schedule of AirTran international flights are:
Denver - Cancun
- April 16 through July 7 - Daily flights
- July 8 through August 12 - Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday
- August 13 through Sept 28 - Saturday and Sunday
Austin - Cancun
- May 25 through August 31 - Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday
- September 1 through September 28 - Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday
In addition AirTran in order to support this new international sector will also start two new domestic sectors Houston Hobby and San Antonio and between Houston Hobby and Austin.
