Tasting the flavors at Montego Bay’s Caribbean Shrimp Festival

The Caribbean Shrimp Festival at Whitter Vilage in Montego Bay is round the corner. The festival will be held on July 14, 2014. Like past years, I will be traveling from Fort Lauderdale again to Montego Bay to participate in the yummy Caribbean Shrimp Festival.

I have attended the festival ever since it was launched in 2012. This will be the third edition of the festival, which has gained prominence and has become a major event on Montego Bay’s calendar. Get ready to tingle your taste buds and give yourself a spicy treat arising out of authentic Caribbean flavors. The aroma of Scotch bonnet pepper, black beans, coconut, curry and garlic are simply overpowering. Your hunger urges will get the better of you when you attend the Caribbean Shrimp Festival 2014.
 
This unique event is fascinating indeed. Here you will see the hosts and hostesses decked up in tiny shrimp costumes. The Whitter Village is transformed into a shrimp haven for the entire day. When I attended the festival last year, I saw the venue overtaken by seafood lovers from U.S., Caribbean nations and other parts of the world. It was a real treat for the visitors and feast for the eyes. You can look forward to exotic shrimp delicacies such as curried shrimp, garlic shrimp with pasta, shrimp in creole sauce, lip-smacking garlic bread, ecoveitch shrimp and savory jerked.

I am looking forward to see the shrimp tasting turning into a feast just like last year. The hosts also educate the participants regarding the life of pistol shrimp through an educational video. This awareness program kicked off the festival last year.

The Caribbean Shrimp Festival sees the participation of renowned celebrity chefs and singers. The festival also hosts fashion designers, who showcase their creations to the gathered participants. The festival is a must-attend event in Montego Bay.
