United Airlines launching SFO-Xian B787 Dreamliner service May 8

United Airlines recently announced it will be launching its new Boeing 787 Dreamliner flights between Xian and San Francisco starting next summer. The airline has already got the approval by the U.S. Department of Transportation to launch the new route. The seasonal flights are scheduled to start from May 8 and continue until October 27, 2016. This would be the first transpacific service to Xian to be operated by any airline.

The flights between San Francisco and Xian would be operated thrice weekly. The outbound flight would depart from San Francisco at 13:25 hrs and reach Xian at 17:30 hrs next day. The flights would be operated on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays every week. The return flight would make its departure from Xian at 10:30 hrs and arrive in San Francisco at 07:35 hrs same day. The return flights would be conducted on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays per week.

Meanwhile, United Airlines has announced it will be adding a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on its Los Angeles-London Heathrow route to be operated daily from next year. The airline will be offering 48 seats in Business First cabin for its customers booking business class flights to Los Angeles from London Heathrow. Apart from the Business First, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner would be offering 88 seats in Economy Plus and 116 seats in United Economy. The new Dreamliner service on San Francisco-London Heathrow route will start operating from April 6, 2016. 

According to the airline, the outbound flight will depart from London Heathrow at 10:35 hrs and reach Los Angeles at 13:50 hrs. The return flight would depart from Los Angeles at 17:45 hrs and arrive in London Heathrow at 12:15 hrs next day.
