United Airlines sixth daily London-New York service from April 5

United Airlines has announced it will be adding its sixth daily flights services between New York’s Newark Liberty International Airport and London Heathrow Airport starting this summer schedule. The increased frequency will start operating from April 5 till October 28, 2017.

Providing details about the new schedule, United Airlines in a statement said that the sixth daily flight will depart from London Heathrow at 11:40 hours and reach Newark Liberty at 15:05 hours. The return flight will make its departure from Newark Liberty at 21:30 hours and arrives in London Heathrow at 09:40 hours the following day. The airline will deploy a Boeing 767-300 aircraft to conduct the additional daily flight. The aircraft is configured with travel classes and offers 30 seats in Business Class, 49 seats in Economy Plus and 184 seats in Economy Class.

With the additional service United Airlines will now be offering more daily flights between Newark Liberty and London Heathrow that any other carrier. Bob Schumacher, United Airlines’ Managing Director Sales – UK and Ireland, said, “The increased frequency is clearly indicative and demonstrates how successful our services are from London Heathrow to the U.S. East Coast. Our UK customers will now be provided with more travel options than before, not only to the Big Apple, but to numerous destinations on the airline’s extensive network across the United States and beyond from Newark Liberty.”

However, the additional daily service from London Heathrow to Newark Liberty has come at a time when United Airlines had only last month its Belfast-Newark Liberty route on January 9, 2017. Continental Airlines, which has been acquired by United Airlines, had started operating the route many years ago. The route was served with the help of a narrow-body Boeing 757 aircraft. This was the only regular long-haul route being operated out of Northern Ireland’s Belfast International Airport, which has been finally dropped now. United Airlines had earlier threatened that it will withdraw that service due to mounting losses, which had only been growing for past several years.
