United Airlines to move premium service flights to Newark Oct 25

United Airlines has finally decided to end its premium service flights to/from New York JFK and move its operations to its hub at Newark Liberty International Airport. The airline in a statement said that its premium service flights to Los Angeles and San Francisco will start operating to/from Newark Liberty starting from October 25, 2015.

Media reports said that the move by United Airlines would prove to be beneficial for the passengers arriving from Los Angeles or San Francisco to New York as they will be able to conveniently transfer on to connecting flights to other destinations. No such sonnections existed at New York JFK currently.

The reports said that United Airlines has agreed to swap its New York JFK landing and take-off slots with Delta Air Lines'' slots at Newark Liberty. This is however subject to regulatory approval.

The reports furhter stated that apart from moving the premium service flights to Newark Liberty, United Airlines has also decided to expand its premium service offering on all flights to Los Angeles and New York JFK from Newark Liberty. The airline will also reconfigure some Boeing 757-200 aircrafts being currently used on transatlantic flights in the premium service configuration.

Those booking business class tickets on United Airlines will also find it greatly beneficial as the airline has will be boosting its frequencies, and will be offering up to 15 daily flights to Los Angeles from Newark Liberty and 17 daily flights services to San Francisco.

Currently, American Airlines and Delta Air Lines are into stiff competition in Los Angeles. Travel experts said that the rivalry between the two carriers stands United Airlines in good stead and likely to benefit it with the premium service flights to Newark Liberty.
