Virgin Atlantic 2nd daily B787-9 San Francisco flight from Oct 24

Virgin Atlantic Airways recently announced it will be enhancing its frequencies on London Heathrow-San Francisco route from October this year.
The airline will be launching its second daily Boeing 787-9 service between the two cities to be operated starting October 24, 2015.

The airline said that starting from March 29, 2015 it will operate a second service on this route starting from March 29 during summer schedule. The additional flights to San Francisco from London Heathrow will be operated five-times every week.

Virgin Atlantic Airways further indicated that the London Heathrow-San Francisco route has become hugely popular now. The airline said that it will be conducting an additional Dreamliner service to be operated daily throughout the winter 2015/16 season.

According to the new schedule, the Flight VS041 will depart from London Heathrow Airport (LHR) at 1515 hrs and reach San Francisco International Airport (SFO) at 1810 hrs. The return Flight VS042 will depart from San Francisco at 2145 hrs and arrive at London Heathrow at 1600 hrs the following day.

The new service will be a joint venture of Virgin Atlantic Airways and Delta Air Lines as part of the transatlantic operations with up to 39 flights per day at peak. The airline’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft to be operated on the route will be offering 31 seats in Upper Class, 35 seats in premium economy and 198 seats in economy class.

Virgin Atlantic Airways has also stated it is planning to launch its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner service on many other routes as well in 2015. The new routes include Los Angeles, Shanghai, Johannesburg, Delhi and Hong Kong. The flights on these routes will be operated from London Heathrow.
