Virgin Atlantic Airways launches flights between London Gatwick and Cancun
Richard Branson-owned Virgin Atlantic Airways has expanded its flight network to Mexico. The airline recently announced the launch of its new flights between London Gatwick and Cancun.
The airline in a statement said that the customers can buy air tickets at attractive rates now for the twice weekly flights services between the two cities. The airline started the service on July 7, and will be operating flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays every week.
Cancun will be Virgin Atlantic Airways’ 34th destination. The airline will operate flights on this route with the help of a Boeing 747 aircraft configured with three classes – 379 seats in Economy Class, 58 seats in Premium Economy and 14 seats in Upper Class.
Virgin Atlantic Airways has also indicated that it is giving seven of its jumbos a facelift. The airline is investing $77.56 million (50 million GBP) for the upgrade of the aircrafts. The airline will be installing new Economy and Premium Economy products. It will also be installing new in-flight entertainment system. The airline said that the retrofitting would be completed by Christmas this year.
